Way back in March, I received a very exciting email from a reader.  It was a filming tip and I was told that a new Hallmark Christmas movie would be shooting in Clayburn Village and none other than Leann Rimes would be starring!  My schedule was clear for the day, so I contacted my friend Janelle to see if she wanted to meet up and check it out.  Janelle loves Hallmark movies and is into film locations too.   She lives in Langley, so I went to her place and then we headed over to Abbotsford.

I have written about Clayburn before, including The General Store from the All of My Heart movies, The Real Murderers Club Meeting Hall from Aurora Teagarden, and Alice’s home from All of My Heart 2 & 3.  The village is small so when we arrived, we found parking and walked around the area to sort of check things out.

We found where the circus was parked and then headed over to the Clayburn Schoolhouse, which seemed to be where filming was taking place.  Although we couldn’t go inside, the real action…..at least for us…..was all happening in front of the building.

As Janelle and I were standing around, a car pulled up and out stepped Leann herself!  I asked her for a quick photo before she went inside.

Although we didn’t know all the actor’s names, we did recognize them from their previous Hallmark movies.  For instance, I approached Ellie Harvie, who works with Ro at the library in the Aurora Teagarden movies.  I told her we knew exactly who she was but didn’t know her name, so she quickly introduced herself to us.  We talked to Ellie for awhile and she was super friendly and more than happy to pose for pictures.  She was in one of my fave holiday movies called Guess Who’s Coming To Christmas and at the time, I was looking for the house from the movie.  While she couldn’t remember the exact location, she did offer some clues that would prove to be helpful to me down the road.

Another actor we recognized was Lara Gilchrist from All of My Heart, who played the travel blogger in the second and third movies.    Just like Ellie, she too was very friendly and engaging, and when she found out I was a blogger, she was like, “Hey, I PLAYED a blogger” and I was like, “Yeah, I AM a blogger”!  It was really funny and playful, and I remember laughing a lot with her.

We spied Giles Panton but didn’t know how to pronounce his first name, so we just approached him and told him that.  He flashed that beautiful smile and said his name but I was a little lost after that.  To this day, I couldn’t tell you how to pronounce it but hey, I got to say hi and get a photo with him.  Did I mention he has a great smile?  Well, he does. He is very easy on the eyes, including my old eyes.  Just sayin’.  He is very down to earth and like his co-stars, super friendly and approachable. Oh, and he has a great smile.  🙂

After a few hours, Janelle and I left.  We could have stayed around for the filming of the concert later that evening and been in the back ground, but we decided to go.  It was pretty cold outside, and the concert was still hours away.  All in all, it was a very fun time and I am SO happy to have shared it with Janelle!!!  Special thanks to these wonderful actors for the gift of their time…..it was truly a pleasure meeting you all!!!  And many thanks to my reader for the filming tip!

Pam, thank you SO much!!! I appreciate your comment and support. I’m with you, I tend to favor the Hallmark network over everything else. Now that it is November, I am loving all the Christmas movies. I have to admit, it felt a little off to me watching them before Halloween. And this year, there are several movies that just stand out and I cannot wait to see them! Perhaps you and I will discover a new favorite. 🙂

Hi Kerry, I’ve just come across your website whilst surfing info about the Hallmark Movies, we live in Plymouth UK so quite a distance from all of you & the towns used in the filming of the movies. We get to watch the movies usually about a day after they’ve been broadcast in the US, via a download site which may not be strictly legal but who worries. My wife Yvonne & I love those movies & snuggle up & watch them in the mid evening. We’ve found your site to be wonderful & enlightening, now on the fav list

Hi David & Yvonne! WOW…..you’re in the UK!!! My daughter graduated from the University of Leeds. Small world, I know! She is heading back in a week to spend the Thanksgiving holiday in London with her friends. I looked Plymouth up on and it looks like a lovely seaside town that would be perfect for a Hallmark movie!!! I am thrilled that you found my site and honored you’ve added it to your favorites list! I love that you have found a way to view these movies and can picture you snuggled up and watching them together. That is SO sweet!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and I hope to hear from you again soon. 🙂

PS……do you have a favorite Hallmark movie?
