And I would enjoy exploring other small towns. I had wanted to visit Placerville when I was there but time just would not allow. Guess I need to think about coming back! I am watching the movie now on Hallmark. I love the movie, and have it on DVD which I watch at least once during the year. Ed Asner is great, as is Lois Nettleton in her last film role. I live about 40 minutes from Nevada City and enjoy the small town life and friendly people. There are lots of similar small towns within an hour or two that you should check out if you ever come back to the Sierra Nevada foothills. Thanks for your post about Nevada City and The Christmas Card.

Thanks so much for posting this. I just got done watching The Christmas Card for the umpteenth time. It is one of my favorites. We life about 30 min from Nevada City/ Grass Valley so it’s always nice to see that movie knowing it was filmed just up the road. That area doesn’t get a ton of snow so I wondered if they had to make some, but 2006 they did get more than usual so that was perfect for the movie. I signed up for your blog posts and look forward to reading them. Thanks again!!!
